The rain had been on-and-off all afternoon, but when Mike Pence took the stage at an outdoor rally on Tuesday night, it started pouring. “Thanks for coming out on what we call a moist evening, but you know where I come from in the Hoosier state, rain is a good thing,” Pence told hundreds of supporters. Pence once again laid out his and Donald Trump’s vision if they’re elected. “It truly is a miracle there was no loss of life, but the truth of the matter is seven and a half years of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s brand of leadership has weakened America’s place in the world and emboldened our enemies,” Pence said. Protesters tried to disrupt things just outside of the event, but Pence continued on speaking for about thirty minutes. Before the rally, Pence held a veterans round table aboard the USS Wisconsin.

The population of Kenansville quadrupled on Tuesday, when Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump brought his campaign to the Duplin County Events Center. "We've been touring the state all day,” Trump said on stage minutes after arriving from an earlier event in High Point. “I hear we're leading in the polls in North Carolina, and on Nov. 8 we're going to win this state and win back the White House." Trump immediately attacked what he called a "very failed and very corrupt" establishment and said he would replace it with a new government that would better serve the American people. He lashed out at his opponent, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, as a part of that establishment. "Hillary Clinton represents insiders, she represents the donors, the politicians, the big banks, the multi-national corporations and everyone getting rich off a very rigged system," Trump explained. "She represents everyone responsible for the decades-long squeezing of the middle class." Trump went on to claim that Clinton is the "chief emissary" for global special interests moving jobs and wealth from the middle class in the United States to other parts of the world, including Mexico. "I'm not running to be president of the world. I'm running to be president of the United States," Trump said as the crowd erupted into chants of "USA!"

The Republican nominee scheduled two rallies in the battleground state Tuesday. It's his seventh visit to this state since winning his party's nomination in July. Trump kicked off the first of two stops in North Carolina with a mid-day rally at High Point University. He started his speech by talking about national security, referencing the bombings in New York and New Jersey over the weekend. He says the country must protect itself from and defeat radical Islamic terrorism. "Immigration security is national security," said Trump. "It's just a plain fact that our current immigration system makes no real attempt to determine the views of the people entering our country. We have no idea who they are [or] what they think." Trump promised to cut taxes, renegotiate trade agreements, and create more jobs. "My economic agenda can be summed up in three beautiful words: jobs, jobs, jobs," said Trump.

Mike Pence spoke at Giese Manufacturing in Dubuque. The Indiana Governor talked about Trump's plan to prevent homegrown terrorism after bombings in the New York area. He also said the federal government should be more careful about who it allows into the country. Pence says, “Compared to Hillary Clinton's plan to expand our refugee program by 550%, When Donald Trump becomes President of the United States, we will have extreme vetting for immigrants coming from troubled parts in the world. We will suspend the refugee program coming from Syria until we know who those people are." Pence also criticized Clinton, and President Barack Obama while speaking in Mason City Iowa Monday morning. Pence says, “The weak and ineffective foreign policy of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton has emboldened our enemies, and compromised the safety of the American people. That's all going to end on the 20th day of January when Donald Trump becomes president."

Like a rock star, Republican nominee Donald Trump took the stage in Estero at 4:20 p.m. He spoke for just under an hour in front of thousands with another couple of thousand outside the arena. The first arrived around 3 a.m. for the chance to listen to Trump. Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich took the stage before Trump. Gingrich warmed up the crowd by attacking Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, specifically on foreign policy. Once Trump got to the mic, he talked about immigration attacking Clinton by using what he said was the recent example of the bombings in New York and New Jersey and the attack in Minnesota. “We want them to love our country,” Trump said. “We want them to love our people. My highest duty as President is to protect our people and to uphold the constitution.” He also called for the end of radical Islam. “We must defeat radical Islamic terrorists,” Trump said. “We cannot let this evil continue.”

Pence told the crowd that Democrats are painting a rosy picture of the economy but that growth has been weak. He says it's keeping more people in poverty. Pence added that if Hillary Clinton is elected, she will just keep President Obama's failed policies, which will sink the country. "Donald trump and I know that this is not the best we can do, it just they best they can do,” Pence said. “And when Donald Trump becomes the President of the United States, we are going to get this economy moving for everybody in Iowa and everybody all across the United States of America." Pence says the best way to get the economy moving again is to lower taxes, reduce regulations and negotiate better trade deals.

Trump's plane arrived about 45 minutes ahead of schedule, and he started his speech early outside a hangar at the airport -- with his signature plane behind him. Trump began by discussing the ongoing situation in New York City, telling the crowd that a "bomb" exploded even though authorities only were describing it as an explosion at that time. "Just before I got off the plane a bomb went off in New York and nobody knows what's going on but we are living in a time -- we better get very tough folks," he said. The speech was very much a greatest hits album of his campaign over the past year -- emphasizing immigration. "We are going to end illegal immigration and we will build a wall," Trump said.

Donald Trump made his entrance to “Do You Hear the People Sing?” from the Broadway play Les Miserables to the backdrop of a “Les Deplorablés” banner. The image is apparently a play off of his opponent Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who referred to some Trump supporters as “deplorables” a week earlier. The Republican presidential nominee opened his remarks by saying, “Welcome to all of you Deplorables.” Trump threw a lot of red meat  to the faithful. “All the concessions that Obama has granted the Castro regime were done by executive order which means the next president can reverse them and that I will do unless the Castro regime meets our demands and you know what the demands are,” And he jumped on Venezuelan issue. “They are really hurting over there in Venezuela. Miami is full of hard working Venezuelan people . But it has been hurt badly by socialism. Venezuela and the next president has to stand in solidarity,” Trump said.

Donald Trump held a rally at Laconia Middle School Thursday evening. He started off by thanking the supporters who've been with his campaign since New Hampshire primary season. “Just so you know, New Hampshire has a special place in my heart because this is where I won my first primary,” Trump said. “Is there any place better to be than a Trump rally in New Hampshire?” he asked. Trump briefly touched on the economic plan unveiled earlier in the day “My economic plan can be summed up in 3 words: Jobs, job, jobs,” he said. Trump also went after Hillary Clinton for calling half his supporters “deplorables.” Trump said. “Hillary Clinton slanders you as deplorable,” he said. Trump was joined on stage by his son, Eric, who said, “We will not let you down.” Trump later joined New Hampshire supporters back stage, shaking hands and signing hats.

Donald Trump promised that he will work with the NRA to “save the Second Amendment,” at a Sept. 14 campaign rally in Canton, Ohio. “I am going to save your Second Amendment,” he declared. ‘The National Rifle Association has endorsed me, and they are great people. We are going to save your Second Amendment.” To those who understand that the grand prize of this election is Supreme Court of the United States–which awaits the next president’s nomination of a justice to fill the vacancy left by Antonin Scalia–Trump said, “I’m going to appoint justice of the Supreme Court who will follow the constitution.” Protecting gun rights is a consistent staple in Trump’s campaign and the surest way to defend the Second Amendment is to fill SCOTUS with jurists who view the constitution in light of the Founders’ intent.
