Donald Trump’s first campaign event at his just-opened hotel in Washington, D.C. gave the GOP candidate the opportunity to honor Medal of Honor recipients. More than a dozen of them have endorsed him for president. Trump thanked the generals and Medal of Honor recipients who are supporting him. Trump thanked the generals and Medal of Honor recipients who are supporting him. Trump’s advisor Gen. Michael Flynn spoke at the start of the event, holding a moment of silence for POW/MIA recognition day. “We have a deficient of leadership in this country right now,” Flynn stated, saying Trump has the temperament of winning and that is what the country needs. “Temperament is actually a strength of his.” As Breitbart News’s Charlie Spiering reports, CNN anchors appeared frustrated that Trump focused on the Medal of Honor recipients instead of addressing the news of the day — the birtherism controversy.

During Donald Trump’s visit to Flint, Michigan on Wednesday, the Republican nominee commented on how the automobile manufacturing industry has moved to Mexico — impacting trade — and how people in Flint can’t drink the water, much like the water in Mexico. “It used to be cars were made in Flint, and you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico,” Trump stated. “Now, the cars are made in Mexico and you can’t drink the water in Flint.” “That’s not good,” he added, as people chuckled in response. Trump visited Flint — a city that has had water trouble since the Spring of 2014 — after the Flint River wasn’t treated with the proper chemicals, which caused lead to get into the drinking water, according to Detroit News.

Donald Trump is touring the water plant in Flint, Michigan, which has had its water supply contaminated by lead. Trump was shown around by JoLisa McDay, the plant supervisor. The facility has not been operational since last fall. McDay explained to Trump that the plant would not be running at full capacity immediately after reopening next year. Trump complimented her enthusiasm for the job. This is Trump's first visit since the 2014 crisis that affected 100,000 people. It occurred after the city left Detroit's water supply and started using improperly treated Flint River water.

Donald Trump appeared at the event alongside supporters including New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Rudy Giuliani. Trump and Clinton were about 20 feet apart from one another before Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton left a 9/11 memorial ceremony early for what several reports have dubbed a medical episode. A bystander’s video showing Clinton appearing to stumble as she was helped into a black van by aides and Secret Service agents. A second video appears to corroborate an early report from Fox News’s Rick Leventhal that Clinton lost a shoe during her departure. Clinton’s security team drove her to her daughter Chelsea Clinton’s apartment in Manhattan, where she later emerged.

Donald Trump paid his respects on Saturday at the funeral of  conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly, 92, who passed away this week. “We are here today to honor the life and legacy of a truly great American patriot,” Trump told attendees of Schlafly’s funeral mass on Saturday afternoon. “A movement has lost its hero.” The Republican nominee began by offering his “deepest and heartfelt condolences to her six wonderful children whom she loved so much… her sixteen grandchildren, and her three great grandchildren.” Trump said. “You have lost a mother, an amazing woman. And our county has lost a true patriot,” Trump said. “Phyllis was a strong, proud, and fierce warrior. That’s what she was. She was a warrior. And she was a warrior for the country, which she loved so much… To borrow a phrase from a great poet, Phyllis was that strength which in all days moved heaven and earth.” The funeral mass was held at Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis.

Donald Trump toured his new hotel at the Old Post Office Building in downtown Washington, D.C., on Friday before his speech at the Values Voter Summit. The hotel ensures that no matter what happens in November, Trump will have a presence on Pennsylvania Avenue. Exclusive photos and videos that the Trump campaign provided to Breitbart News show the real estate magnate, his daughter Ivanka Trump, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn interacting with the staff. Trump did tweet one of the photos from the event, for which the dishonest press wasn’t allowed inside, but the rest and the video was provided exclusively by the campaign to Breitbart News. Trump himself, in the video, introduced Flynn as “one of the great generals” and a “warrior.” Trump, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News later in the day backstage at the Values Voter Summit, said that the hotel will be “maybe the best” hotel in the entire United States.

Thursday was a big day at the Cleveland Arts and Social Sciences Academy, a community charter school hosting about 340 students from Cleveland and inner ring suburbs. The Trump campaign rolled out a big, new urban education plan, vowing to spend $20 billion of repurposed federal money to give to help struggling inner city. He claimed that, combined with state funding, 11 million students could be empowered to use the money to pick a school of their choice. He said states would be offered incentives to participate and believed the program would help Ohio which has a big and controversial charter school program. Trump said, "My goal as President will be to ensure that African-American and Hispanic-Americans and all Americans will be placed on the ladder of success."

Donald Trump says his Democratic opponent would treat immigrants in the country illegally better than veterans. The Republican presidential nominee attacked Hillary Clinton as he courted veterans Tuesday in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He referenced Clinton and President Barack Obama's policies, saying, "You have illegal immigrants that she wants and he wants treated better than veterans." Trump promised he would fix bureaucratic problems in the Veterans Administration. In the meantime, he said veterans waiting for care could go to private doctors or hospitals and the government would pick up the bill.

Trump’s motorcade arrived at the Canfield Fair. Both sides of the midway were lined with people, a crowd estimated at 20,000 had stopped by to see the Republican nominee for president. Then the motorcade stopped and Trump appeared, dressed in a suit and tie and surrounded by secret service. He made his way through the fair shaking hands and waving. He spent about 1 hour 20 minutes in the fairgrounds. Twelve of those minutes were seen by the public, nine on his walk to the Republican Party tent and the other three minutes outside the administration building, where he spent the majority of his time. When Trump exited the tent, he was handed a bullhorn and addressed the crowd for 25 seconds. “We’re going to bring jobs back to Ohio, we’re going to bring jobs back to the country. We’re not going to make these horrible trade deals anymore. We’ll bring our jobs back. Thank you everybody, I love you, thank you,” Trump said.

Donald Trump extended a rare invitation to a handful of reporters to join him Monday on his private jet in between campaign stops in Ohio. Trump softened his language on immigration when pressed by reporters. “We’re going to make that decision into the future,” Trump told reporters. Trump said he plans to take part in all three presidential debates against rival Hillary Clinton. “I look forward to the debates,” Trump told reporters, saying he regards them as “an important element of what we’re doing. I think you have an obligation to do the debates.” He also mentioned Clinton’s energy level while referencing his recent trips to flood-battered Louisiana and to Mexico to meet with President Enrique Pena Nieto. “She didn’t have the energy to go to Louisiana. And she didn’t have the energy to go to Mexico.” Trump said.
